This 15-chapter book will pull the reader in right from the start. There is no turning back after reading the first sentence. This children’s book for school-aged children is a wonderful blend of historical fiction and science fiction. When two cousins, Patrick and Beth connect with Whit, he leads them by the hand, so to speak, as he opens the door to our county’s past in an unforgettable and creative manner. The pages become transparent as the book reveals its hidden treasures.

Beautiful, detailed illustrations will delight future readers with visuals treats to enhance their journey. I can’t think of a better way for children to learn about United States history. This book is one not to be missed!
Sharon Blumberg is a freelance writer, mother of two grown children, former Sunday school teacher and substitute teacher. She has been a junior high teacher at Parker Junior High in Flossmoor, Illinois for the last 19 years. She currently lives in Munster, Indiana with her husband.

Readers of The Redcoats are Coming will be immersed in Patrick and Beth’s exciting adventure to Boston during the time of the Revolutionary War. The two get to meet Paul Revere, John Hancock and others during their trip in the imagination station. The way Paul Revere’s letter, the cane and other items were interwoven in the plot and how they were used when Patrick and Beth arrived at their destination was thrilling. The twist on Paul Revere’s ride was great and unexpected. Loved it.

As a former teacher aid in elementary school, I know how children love action and excitement in their stories. This story will leave them riveted to the journey and history in the story. A teacher will be able leave off at any chapter and leave the children waiting for more. I know I couldn’t put it down; they won’t either.
-Margaret Gower, Retired Elementary School teacher Aide, Auburn, New York

The Redcoats are Coming takes the reader along with cousins, Patrick and Beth, on a journey back in time, to participate in events leading up to Paul Revere’s famous ride. This experience will help them know why famous people in history were willing to stand together and fight for the right to express their faith and belief in God. A perfect history adventure for Christian School students and home schoolers.
